Autumnal Equinox: The BEST Time of Year!

The Autumnal Equinox is tomorrow - September 22. That means today we celebrate the 21st of September:

The next six weeks are my absolute favorite time of year! I always loved the start of the school year, football, crunchy leaves on the ground and rain. I’m an Oregon girl to the core, so when gray skies and rain roll in, I am the happiest.

I had a couple of lovely book events this summer. One at Paulina Springs Books in Sisters, Oregon. It is a beautiful independent bookstore in Central Oregon. I highly recommend a visit. The second event was at Barnes and Noble in my husband’s hometown of Anchorage, Alaska. I was there on a Wednesday afternoon and there were lots of folks there and I had some wonderful conversations. I believe Anchorage is a book-ish town!

On the writing front, I’m deep in revisions of book number two. A totally different era than my first book, but still a sweeping historical saga with an emphasis on an untold story from actual history. I really love it, and I’m hoping it will get picked up by a publisher and out into the world.

I have an extra large TBR pile, but I’m still reading things that are helping to inform the revisions to book number two, and I’m not sad about it. One book not related to my research was “The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo” by Taylor Jenkins Reid. It was a great summer read for me, although I didn’t connect with some of it, I would give it a solid four stars.

I’m planning to soak in all the excellent fall vibes over the next couple of months, and revise, revise, and revise book two.
